Issue Date of the Fifth set of RMB 5 yuan is Announced


The People's Bank of China announced to issue the fifth set of RMB 5 banknotes start on November 5, 2020.


The 2020 version of the fifth set of RMB 5 yuan banknotes maintains the 2005 version’s specifications, main patterns, main colors, national emblem, Braille denomination mark, Chinese pinyin, ethnic characters and other elements. The most important is optimizing the structure and effect of the banknote and improving the overall anti-counterfeiting performance.



Compared to the 2005 version the major change is that the denomination number in the middle of the front is adjusted to the bright and variable "5", and the local patterns in the lower left and upper right corners are adjusted to the gravure-to-print denomination number and the gravure-to-print pattern.


After the issuance of the fifth set of RMB 5 yuan banknotes in the 2020 edition, it will be circulated in RMB equivalent to the same denomination.


The 2019 version of the fifth set of RMB


The People's Bank of China issued the fifth set of RMB partial paper coins in 2005 in August 2005, the new 100 yuan banknotes were issued in November 2015, and the new 50 yuan, 20 yuan, 10 yuan, and 1 yuan banknotes were issued in August 2019. With 1 yuan, 5 cents, 1 cents coins, its anti-counterfeiting ability and printing quality have been significantly improved, and it has been widely praised by the society.
