China Issued 134 Million Passport in 2019



According to information from the National Immigration Administration, 670 million people entered and exited in 2019, up 3.8% year-on-year. A total of 134 million passport were issued throughout the year.




They had been serviced 20.21 million people for exit and entry passport, saving about 37.4 billion RMB for the people and enterprises and benefiting more than 8 million Hong Kong and Macao residents and overseas Chinese. After optimizing the implementation of the 144-hour transit visa-free stays policy, 963,000 foreigners enjoyed policy convenience.


In order to actively adapt to the new situation of continuous high growth of immigration personnel and transportation vehicles, the National Immigration Administration proactively serves the national strategy, constantly introduces new facilitative measures, innovates inspection models, improves the efficiency and service quality of border inspection, strives to promote open still wider to the outside world.




In 2019,  89 “Belt and Road” border inspection channels setted up at 18 ports such as Beijing and Shanghai to provide fast customs clearance for 290,000 passengers. The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta region, Guangdong and other places have implemented the 144-hour transit visa-free stays policy for foreigners.


Accelerate the promotion of the “Internet +” border inspection service. Throughout the year, more than 60,000 foreign ship permits were accepted and approved online and more than 1,900 companies enjoyed the convenience of online declaration, which further facilitated cross-border trade and optimized port business environment.
